Publisher’s Summary
This is a tale of murder.
Or maybe that’s not quite true. At its heart, it’s a love story, isn’t it?
Lana Farrar is a reclusive ex-movie star and one of the most famous women in the world. Every year, she invites her closest friends to escape the English weather and spend Easter on her idyllic private Greek island.
I tell you this because you may think you know this story. You probably read about it at the time―it caused a real stir in the tabloids, if you remember. It had all the necessary ingredients for a press sensation: a celebrity; a private island cut off by the wind…and a murder.
We found ourselves trapped there overnight. Our old friendships concealed hatred and a desire for revenge. What followed was a game of cat and mouse―a battle of wits, full of twists and turns, building to an unforgettable climax. The night ended in violence and death, as one of us was found murdered.
But who am I?
My name is Elliot Chase, and I’m going to tell you a story unlike any you’ve ever heard.

The Fury by Alex Michaelides Book Review
One letdown after another. Every time I got excited to read a new book by Alex, it turned out to be a big disappointment. “The Silent Patient” got me hooked on thrillers, so I had high hopes for “The Maidens.” But it just didn’t deliver. Then I tried “The Fury,” but right away, I didn’t like how it was told. Instead of feeling like I was part of the story, it was Elliot telling it to me.
The only part that got me interested was the end, where the character Elliot finds out something about Theo from “The Silent Patient.” But even that didn’t make up for the letdowns I felt with the rest of the book.
So, disappointment became a regular thing for me with each new book I picked up. I finished “The Fury” feeling like I’d missed out on a chance for a really exciting story. Unfortunately, I will not be picking up another book by Alex.

Book Quotes
Once I saw the kid in me, I started seeing kids in other people—all dressed as adults, playacting at being grown-up. But I saw through the performances now, to the frightened children beneath.

…that’s how we communicate, isn’t it? We’re all over the place: we jump back and forth in time; slow down and expand on some moments; fast-forward through others; editing as we go, minimizing flaws and maximizing assets. We are all the unreliable narrators of our own lives.
